Stalking a Wombat, Tasmania.

I have always been an obsessive traveller and my transition to obsessive travel photographer happened naturally and rather rapidly - I took my first travel photos in 2002 and by 2004 photography had become the primary driver behind my trips.

My other great passion is wildlife and I have focused increasingly on wildlife photography in recent years. I am in my element when I am in some remote wilderness in search of exotic and ellusive creatures to photograph!

My brother, Matthew, is also a wildlife photographer and we try to work as a team to take innovative and original wildlife shots.

I shoot with Canon gear - my primary body is the 1D Mk III and I rarely travel without a 16-35mm f/2.8, a 70-200mm f/2.8 and a 300mm f/2.8.

Connecting with other photographers online has contributed massively to my development as a photographer. My favorite photos can be seen on my photoblog and a more extensive selection can be found here on Burrard-Lucas.com. Matthew and I also try to post regular articles about wildlife photography on Burrard-Lucas Blog. You can also follow on twitter (twitter.com/willbl).
